Congratulations! You made it. There is no better feeling than to exit the yoga room after your first class, knowing you have just completed one of the most challenging exercise classes on the planet.
Give yourself a big pat on the back and if you feel exhausted then know you have done well. The classes that are hardest on your body and mind are the ones that give you the most gain – let go of any attachment you are feeling to moments in the class when you may have felt overwhelmed. You made it and that is all that matters!
The first Bikram Yoga class you try will be your toughest. Come back tomorrow for your second class, now knowing what to expect – leave the trackpants and heavy t-shirt at home, and don the lightest clothing you can. Rehydrate with plenty of water and electrolytes. Be proud of your first class no matter what happened, and know that you are one of a band of tenacious few who ever attempt the Bikram Yoga discipline. Talk to your Bikram teacher after class and discuss anything that you are unsure of.
