I attended my first Bikram Yoga class eight years ago, in London. I felt immediate benefits from the heat to long-standing football injuries and soon committed to a regular practice. When I moved for work, from London to the UK's Midlands, my closest Bikram studio was a two hour drive away. I found the healing benefits of the yoga so powerful that I happily took six hours to drive, practice a class, shower and return home. It was an eighteen-hour-a-week commitment to attend three classes!
I had broken both my legs, damaged my knees and locked my hips through nearly twenty years of playing high-level sport. Bikram Yoga helped me more than any therapist or treatment that I had ever experienced. I also felt calmer, happier and more energised from practicing the yoga regularly.
In 2006, I became a certified Bikram Yoga Instructor after completing teacher training in Los Angeles. I subsequently gained teaching experience in the UK, USA and Asia before living in Australia.
Apart from teaching yoga, I'm a first-class graduate in both Drama and Sports studies. I trained as an actor in London (and more recently at NIDA) and have worked, intermittently, in stage, television and film for 15 years. I'm also a Football Association Coach and an ASA Swimming Teacher. My twin passion for sport and the arts has always been central to my life. Practicing Bikram Yoga helps me to optimise performance in both disciplines. From a teaching perspective, I've seen so many people heal their bodies and transform their lives through this yoga.
"I love teaching and it's beautiful to observe every student as they improve and evolve."
